Stay Vigilant - We MUST Win in November

The Republicans must win in November. The biggest reason is that president Obama and his fellow Democrats control everything right now and they have already spent over 3 trillion dollars. It is impossible to keep up with spending at this level. Not only that but they have plans that go further to limit our freedoms than even the health care and other laws.

President given authority to shut down the Internet

This sounds like something from George Orwell's "1984." When I first heard about it I thought that surely this was just another hoax. Under this new bill, the president will be allowed to control the Internet for up to 120 days. If that doesn't scare you, I don't know what will. Could you imagine having the Internet completely shut down for four full months. That means no e-mail, no news, no blogs, and no Facebook or MySpace. While there may be reasons that the politicians think this is needed, it is yet another trashing of our freedoms.

Flat Tax versus Fair Tax

Nearly 50% of Americans pay NO taxes and many of them get a "refund." It's hard to believe anyone would think that the poor are getting shafted when the top 5% pay 43% of all of the taxes. A flat tax must truly be flat. Just like we are encouraged to tithe 10% we should be taxed at the same percent. Obviously the more a person makes the more they pay.

But the best option is not the flat tax but the fair tax. This completely replaces the IRS as we know it. Instead of paying a payroll tax of any kind there is a national sales tax on consumption. There have been a lot of studies and proponents of this. Check out Steve Forbes' opinions on this. Everyone would pay this tax: citizens whether rich or poor, illegal aliens, visitors or guests to this country. The cool thing is that some models have it worked into the current pricing structure so you will not actually see an increase at the store. That's complex and I'm not going to explain it here. The bottom line is that it doesn't matter if the person inherited their money or earned there money or stole their money, whenever they purchase anything they pay the tax. This is my first choice and unlikely to ever pass. My second choice is the flat tax as long as it is FLAT and not progressive. Even Russia figured this one out.

Republican Scott Brown WINS!

Republican Scott Brown won the Senate seat in Massachusetts that was held by the late Ted Kennedy for nearly 47 years. This seat was expected to be an easy win for Democrats and they considered it one of their most reliable seats. Martha Coakley (D) has conceded. This victory will mean the Democrats no longer have a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. This is remarkable and will hopefully mean the end of what they call "Health Care Reform" (code for steal some people's money to give to other people and force everyone to get health insurance whether they want it or not).
